adultsThe Western Meadowlark has streaked brown upperparts with bright yellow underparts. The bird has a wide black 'V' near the top of its chest, and its outer tail feathers are white (noticable while in flight). The winter plumage of the Meadowlark is more dull than it is in the summer months.

juvenilesThe plumage of young Meadowlarks is more dull than their adult counterparts.

This species of bird is not usualy attractable with feeders. We have included it on our list because of the significant number of these birds in our area.
