The male Western Bluebird has a purple tinted, deep blue tail, head, throat and wings. However, the bird stands apart because of its red-orange front. The Western Bluebird has a chestnut patch on its back that is usually visible.

femalesFemale Western Bluebirds have a gray throat, gray-blue head and back, light blue wings and tail, a white ring around her eye, and a buffy breast.

not-attractable

This species of bird is not usualy attractable with feeders. We have included it on our list because of the significant number of these birds in our area.
